Mario Quintero

Since his early days of boombox to boombox overdubbing, Quintero has not stopped experimenting with, and learning new (and old) recording and production techniques. His love for the music surpasses any technical “rules” or need for an expensive piece of gear. After his time in San Diego, where he owned and operated Black Box Studios, he and his wife Sarah moved to Brooklyn where they formed the band  Spotlights and went on to tour with the likes of Deftones, Melvins, Quicksand, Glassjaw, Hum and more…

Mario now resides in Pittsburgh, PA, focusing his efforts between performing in Spotlights, and working with other bands and artists, whether it be producing, mixing, mastering, writing, arranging or simply acting as a consultant on the process.
